Hunting for George were growing so fast their systems needed streamlining. I built a brand new fully integrated online solution, which has reduced their back end administration and allowed them to focus on other parts of the business, like sourcing new products and putting up flashbacks to past hits on their blog!
This new online store is built using the Magento eCommerce Content Management System. It processes orders orders on the spot, takes credit card payments with eWay, allows paypal payments and syncs orders with their online accounting system SAASU daily, pushing orders straight through and updating inventory with no manual intervention. This has cut down the administration tasks required in processing orders to basically just getting the goods in the post out to customers.
SEO was also something I wanted to address specifically, just two weeks after going live google has indexed 3,680 pages on the new site. Whereas to date, the .com.au site has only had 869 pages indexed. Also in the first two weeks of going live, there have already been more than 900 impressions in google results, resulting in very good organic traffic right from launch. Going forward we have set specific meta data for all categories on the store, plus we have targeted and setup SEO information for all the brands stocked at HFG.
