QR Codes are still so new, most people don’t know how to effectively use them. But this bar in New Delhi, Turquoise Cottage used them as an admittance stamp (a little less offensive than the Q Bar stamp a while ago…). They wanted their customers bar experience more fun, to engage and be responsible. The admittance became a QR code, or as the bar called it “The buddy stamp.”

From 8 – 10 pm the customers were given special drink offers and discounts for scanning their QR code. Between 10 pm – 6 am, when customers scanned the QR code they were given call-a-cab services. Finally after 6am, until 4pm the the day after a session at the bar customers were given hangover tips. Genius…

Results: the bar reported an overwhelming response. With 85% of smart phone users opting for the buddy stamp in the club, customers even shared their experience online (via social networking sites, which helped promote the local bar to other Facebook users). Interaction by customers and word of mouth via social networking resulted in huge brand exposure.

If you want me to show you how to setup some QR codes,  get in touch with me over here… That’s kind of what I do…
