Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in February 2004.  As of February 2012, Facebook has more than 845 million active users. 

Thats the power of facebook, with that many millions of users have a think about how many people you know who don’t have a facebook account… Well in my age group 99% of people have and use facebook and it’s only growning. Most of you will know how the personal facebook account works, you create a personal profile, add other users as friends, and exchange messages, then get automatic notifications when they update their profile. You can also make and join groups and like businesses pages to receive updates direct from brands.

The question facing brands, is how to best build these kind of essential connections between a business and its brand advocates, influencers, current customers and prospective customers. How can a brand build the trust and the connection that Facebook creates between friends? How can a business spark conversation, inspire sharing and nurture an engaging experiencing to drive business results?

People will connect with a business fan page of a brand they support and brands that they relate to. By connecting to these businesses, people are sharing their support of these brands with their friends. So, now, businesses can connect to their customers’ friends – and, reach more people who are likely to listen. Some of these new prospects engage and become new customers. It’s word of mouth online…
